Lavender and Your Cat

Lavender is welcomed in many homes around Britain and in gardens cats have a fondness for aromatic plants that are tasty and are drawn to fragrant herb such as lavender, which are potentially not poisonous to cats.

As a sedative lavender has been used with cats and dogs as well as humans as a calming agent which helps with relaxation although with some cats can do the opposite, follow instructions and only use products designed for pets.

There are some collars infused with lavender and advertise as being good for calming cats.

 Lavender is also good for fleas and parasites and is calming to the skin when purchased as a shampoo the benefits include being antiseptic and anti-fungal which helps to reduce scarring and speeds healing helps with healthier cells and benefits frequent cell turnover soothing the skin.
