Vitamins and Minerals

Just like ourselves from time to time young or any age pet may need extra vitamins and minerals to help with a well-balanced diet especially when they are used to a commercial diet.

Like our food a lot of processed food to keep it fresh has preservatives which means they may not be getting all the vitamins and minerals needed and certainly with age they may need extra help since around twelve or so this is when they can get arthritis.

The trick is choosing the correct formula for your pet, if your pet is an older animal then you may need to consider joint health including ingredients like glucosamine and chondroitin for arthritis.

If the cat has flaking skin and dry hair coats, then you may want to include ingredients that add essential fatty acids to the body to increase moisture in the skin and fur.

Fish oil is typically good Vitamins C and E both are well known for their antioxidant properties and can be used to reduce inflammation and may even help to maintain cognitive function in older animals.

For a small animal they often need a little extra to keep them healthy and provide them with strong bones therefore providing the body with calcium and phosphorus while developing helps their bones teeth muscular and nervous systems.

The nutrients required for proper growth in all animals that are essential these are water, carbohydrates, fats, proteins, minerals and vitamins.

Caution: Never over do It and always follow the recommendations the body will only absorb what is needed.
